The Sessionmen
Over the years, I have had the pleasure and privilige to work with some of the finest musicians and co-writers in North America. Before the social media era, it never occurred to me to film or photograph writing and recording sessions with these session players and writers. That, I regret. I take some solace in having the songs, the product of our work, to go back to listen to. That always stirs fond memories of those creative times.
Since 2019, now that content has become king, I have made it a point to always have my phone or camera on hand whenever we’re in session writing, recording or performing. Doing that, I have captured some of the fond memories of the session men and women who have graced me with their talent and love of song over the last few years. They are highlighted here.
The “sessionmen” who currently give their time and energy to tour with me for Live performance offer an altogether different alchemy. There is the writing of songs, but then there is the fragile matter of breathing life into them and capturing their essence on stage, and keeping that magic alive night after night. The sessionmen do that. They are also highlighted on this page. I will be forever indebted to Ray Legere (Fiddle / Mandolin / Co-Writing), Jon Arsenault (Guitar / Backing Vocals / Co-writing / and all things technical) and Maxime Forbes (Keyboards / Backing Vocals) for bringing their magic and talent to this music also that I might perform it for you.
